Lab Meeting

"Lab Seminar" (Lab Meeting) is regularly held as one of the research activities by all the laboratory members involved. The Lab Seminar is a type of gathering consisting of presentation by participants on a specific technical / academic topic and related discussion. The objectives are:

to share the information and knowledge on the topics conducted in the laboratory, background thories, methodologies and past research in the related fields among the members
to provide opportunity to prepare effective presentation techniques, organization of material the student investigated or collected so that the audience understand the contents and idea
to develop academic knowldge by attending to the meeting as audience, and to provide opportunity for training of asking effective questions and making comments at the time of presentation by other members

Spring Semester (April-summer) : textbook reading
The purpose is to study common knowledge and methodologies to understand the fundamental thoeries related to the research topics of the laboratory. Expected speakers are graduate students.
Fall Semester (October-winter) : literature review or report of research results
Literature review is intended to introduce published past papers related to the speaker's own research topic. The content of report of research results should be an interrim report on the findings and results of the speakers research, followed by discussion by the audience. All the graduate and undergraduate students are asked to take part in the presentation.
